To My First Love

Up until the moment of having Liliana, I was a college student in love and enjoying the friendships I have always known.  To have thought of one thing in my life that had given me so much joy was probably hard to do. And then June 21, 2005 happened. Holding her in my arms for the first time was the tipping point of my life. It was that one moment, 7 years 7 months and 22 days ago that I knew what I was meant to do in this world. I was made a mother in one day- what a privilege it has been to nurture and love such a sweet little girl who has made me "mom".  her mom, her example, her friend someday.  She looks to me for so much guidance, and acceptance. Little does she know that she is my hero, she saved me, and has my heart captive in her little hands.
